HOW TO AVOID WEIGHT GAIN DURING THE HOLIDAYS
Most of us look forward to attending as well as hosting holiday parties. But what we dread is getting on the scale after the holidays are over. Dolores Merrell of Advanced Hypnosis Services shares some tips that will avoid weight gain. According to Merrell by making small changes you can avoid the regret of overindulging during the holidays.
The biggest mistakes that individuals make is not to eat before going to a party. That way you may be starving when you arrive and eat everything in sight. A small snack that includes some protein should curb your appetite so you can seek out conversaiton instead of high calorie foods.
Practice positive self talk. For example, "Nothing tastes as good as thin." Or "If I eat this now , how will I feel later?" This may prevent you from overindulging or eating without thinking of the consequences.
Calories bring empty calories. Consider alternating cocktails with a glass of water so that you can enjoy your favorite beverage but cut down on calories.
If you are a guest at a party you can insure
that your food choices are in line with your diet by bringing a healthy contribution. This will gaurantee that there is a healthy choice available to you. Peruse all the selections before you make your best choice.
Remember that real estate axion:location, location, location. Make sure that your location is away from the food. Instead, use the time to catch up with friends or make new ones. After all, isn't that why you came to the party?
Having fun and intereacting with others is the key to a pleasant evening. Focus on interacting with others rather than food. Using these techniques can help you enjoy the holidays without the remorse of over eating and adding on weight.
